By default, when you use the File Manager in cPanel, it does not show hidden files. Hidden files are any file that begins with a dot, such as .htaccess., and .htaccess is actually a common file to edit, so if you would like to edit the file using your File Manager, you will need to ensure you have ticked the option to show hidden files.

Under the heading Files, click File Manager.

Click on the Settings button to the upper-right and tick Show Hidden Files (dotfiles) if it has not yet been.

That's it! All your hidden files will now be visible for you to edit.
