So I am not restricted in disk space and bandwidth. What are my limitations?

You may be using our Ecommerce or Enterprise plan that come with unlimited disk space and bandwidth. However, to be frank, nothing in the world is unlimited, otherwise the biggest internet companies won't be spending millions every month on servers, they would be ordering webhosting plans instead.

Technological advancement has made disk space and bandwidth very inexpensive, enabling us to offer unlimited package. We believe our customers should have all the resources necessary to build an online presence, free from the worries of disk space and bandwidth limitations.

But there are still some limitations we would like to make it known to you:

CPU usage:

The CPU cores on a server handle tasks that your account demands of them, including running a server-side PHP script, connecting to a database, or sending emails. One user monopolizing CPU usage can cause delays for other user’s website requests. If your website uses a database or relies on scripts like PHP, increasing your account’s CPU can improve your website’s performance.

I/O (inputs/outputs) usage, similar to CPU usage, represents how much disk activity your account is using. Any task which makes use of the server’s disk drive will consume I/O. Reaching the I/O limit will cause website processes to slow down and take much longer to complete.

Physical Memory Usage (RAM) usage:

RAM is the memory allocated for your account. If this value reaches the limit you may begin to experience PHP errors (if applicable) on your website, or in very extreme cases may see a Linux server error page. These errors are typically only brief and once the usage has reduced to below the limit, will automatically clear.

Entry Process:

Entry Processes are the number of concurrent processes serving your account. Understanding what constitutes a connection is critical because it’s more complicated than simply “the number of visitors on your website.” For example, if a visitor comes to your site and your homepage takes .1 seconds to load and generates only one HTTP connection, that visitor counted as one process for .1 seconds. Even though that visitor is still “viewing your site,” they no longer count as a connection until they do something else that generates another connection, like move to a new page.

File usage / Inodes:

Once the CPU has processed the instructions for the tasks, it needs to read or write information to the hard drive on the server. Because the hard drive is shared by all the users on the server, excessive read or write requests to the disk can delay other user’s requests from getting fulfilled in a timely manner.

Fortunately, most of the times the above limitations are still within the range for small-medium websites, until your site has grown very large and sophisticated, by which an upgrade to VPS or Dedicated Server will then be necessary.

What happens if I exceed normal usage

Here at Website.com.bn, customers may not send more than 200 e-mail messages per hour (from Webmail). Any account on the server cannot be monopolizing more than 2% CPU or memory resources on average basis for 24 hours. The Inodes limits is 450,000.

The current limitations, which is more than adequate for most small-medium websites, may be raised as we progress technologically as an IT company.

If we have concerns about your account's resource utilization, you will receive an email asking you to reduce usage. Generally, we provide customers with 7 days to make adjustments before taking the account offline. If it is not possible to adjust we will recommend an upgrade to higher plan.
