What Is TTL (Time-to-Live Specification)?

Time to Live or TTL is the length of time, expressed in seconds, that caching nameservers stores the records in local cache before performing a new query. TTL can be set for each advanced DNS record type.

Setting a low TTL value shortens the length of time it takes for other nameservers to notice that you have made a change. But if you set it too short your DNS servers can be slammed with requests. Our recommended value is 14400.

You can change your TTL in cPanel > Domains > Zone Editor > Manage > Edit.
